It's in Midtown, within walking distance of some cool bars and restaurants on Peachtree. It's near two MARTA stops. They have wifi and a range of room sizes. Plus the Georgia Tech hotel is adjacent to it. Dunno how pricey it is though.Tiffany B. That would be the bomb actually because we wouldn't have to worry about folks being entertained in the evenings. It's by no means a final version of anything, but it's all information I've gleaned from the site and from comments.

http://bloggingwhilebrown.pbwiki.com/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8477668516657459657.post-44035371652539724722007-07-24T16:17:00.000-05:002007-07-24T16:17:00.000-05:00I actually used to work with the major convention ...I actually used to work with the major convention center here in Atlanta, the Georgia World Congress Center, so I know the ins and outs of that place, who to speak to, and how to get things done. They have a lot of space, and depending on how big the conference expands to, they can accommodate anywhere from 10 to 10,000 people. I'm not sure what their rates are, but I do know they raise each year. I'll get in touch with my contacts there and see what blocks of time are available and what their rates are looking like.

However, I'm thinking a hotel might be better for something like this because a) if folks come out of town, they don't have to worry about getting lost in the city and b) Atlanta's not really a city you can go out and kick it at night without a car! At least if it's at a hotel, it'd be relatively close to public transportation and/or taxicabs. Hotels either downtown or in Midtown would be good for this. Again, I can work on finding out rates and availability, but I know the rates do vary based on the number of people attending. What do you think a good estimate would be offhand? I have no idea about that. :)

What I think will be good for keeping track of all these ideas would be to use a wiki; there are several free wiki options and they can be easily updated and linked to online. PBWiki (http://pbwiki.com/) is a really good one - it's free, and I've seen its applicable uses through PodCamp Atlanta (I mentioned it a few posts ago). I can get that set up and start putting information from this site on there in applicable categories.

Let's see...what else...oh, anonymous bloggers! I don't go by my real name online either, but I don't mind sharing my blog address. For folks who plan on attending, their badges should have whatever name they choose to provide. One conference I went to I wanted my name to read "Karsh", and they put my real name on there because they got it from my credit card I used to register!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8477668516657459657.post-89290403884550685542007-07-24T10:03:00.000-05:002007-07-24T10:03:00.000-05:00Hi!
